
WHAT IS RECOVERY
While it's great to have recovery coaching in Dubai, Recovery has no standard definition. We are a fan of SAMSHA (The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration)’s “working definition” of recovery, which is:
“A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.”
Notice the phrase “process of change” in the definition and on The Thrive Trail, one might say that we are all recovering from something. How it's labelled is what you respond to most and that is what we can help you with. Whether it's addiction to something (anything), dysfunction or trauma, we are all experiencing constant change in all its forms. Your truth that is sacred will help us help you recover with compassion, gentleness and safety. We are here to listen, walk with you and witness your process, not sell you unrealistic fixes or inauthentic solutions. We guide you into meeting yourself where you're at so that you know where to go with the wisdom you already have that we trust you with. The trail you leave is for you to take and only you can make it with us and thrive! We are like a personal trainer for the mind helping you build strength through conversations and connections. We explore what feels real and true for you. Healing happens when you feel truly seen and heard. This is what recovery looks like for us on The Thrive Trail.
We love CCAR (Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery)'s definition of recovery – "you are in recovery if you say you are". On The Thrive Trail, we have come to realize that:
